In its basic state, titanium is a moderately strong, low-density, highly corrosion-resistant lustrous white metallic element. It occurs widely in igneous rocks and is used in it's very high strength alloy form in aircraft construction for low weight, strength and high-temperature stability.

It is the fourth most abundant element in the earth's crust. The high cost factor is related to the manufacturing process and the marketplace, not availability. The properties of high strength alloy titanium have made it a mainstay in the defense industry in era where arms proliferated. The Soviet Union, for example, had an entire fleet of titanium submarines.

The titanium engagement ring

The style of diamond setting we use for the engagement ring is called a "tention setting". This setting holds the diamond by its "girdle" (the point of least optical and esthetic importance of a round diamond) in 2 tiny grooves on each side of the open band. No other style of stone setting shows the diamond so openly and brilliantly. It almost appears as if the diamond is not held at all, but in fact is one of the more secure settings thanks to the incredible strength of aircraft grade titanium. This mounting is stronger than most conventional prong and bezel type settings which tend to loosen with time and use. Also, the danger of entanglement with fabric etc is virtually eliminated! We carefully cut your ring directly out from the center of a solid piece of ultra high strength titanium metal. The offset profile of this titanium ring is hand formed until it has perfect balance of stone holding pressure and pleasing appearance. Of course your ring is never made in advance, but is always made on order, to your specifications!

If you want us to locate your diamond for you, this is a service we offer. We have developed a relationship with a reliable diamond merchant and can obtain almost any specification of stone for any budget. Most importantly, he pays attention to the whole 4 "C"s (Cut, Clarity, Corour and Carat) rather than the standard practice in ignoring the "Cut" part. Poorly or merely passibly cut diamonds take away the special "fire" that sets diamonds apart from other gemstones. A lower quality cut will reduce the value of a diamond just as much as a lower quality in any of the other 3 "C"s. Don't make this popular mistake!

Diamonds supplied to our ring clients are done as a service rather than to make a profit. All diamonds come with complete certification for authenticity and insurance purposes.

The offset engagement ring profile is a much more difficult style to produce in titanium!
This ring is only available in the aircraft grade titanium known as "Ti6Al/4V" for the ultimate in durability and mythical strength.
We use a special high strength grade of titanium in most of our rings including the tention setting . This titanium is 800% stronger than the usual jewler type of general titanium used for rings. The tention setting needs this extra strength to hold an expensive diamond securely! The extra hardness of our rings will also greatly reduce scratches and eliminate gouges, dents and deformation. Guaranteed for life!

An engagement ring for a stone up to 0.25 carats (approximately 4mm diameter)
in polished or satin finished aircraft titanium is $450.

An engagement ring for a stone over 0.25 carats and up to . 0.50 carats (approximately 5mm diameter) is $550.

An engagement ring for a stone over 0.50 carats and up to . 0.75 carats (just under 6mm diameter) is $650.

An engagement ring for a stone over 0.75 carats and up to . 1.00 carats (approximately 6.5mm diameter) is $750.
